When did the United States agree to defend Taiwan (Republic of China) against a Chinese invasion? - when did nastia-mouse.info close

Which President? It was a formal agreement (approved by the Senate)?
I saw it was in the newspapers several times since the United States - the sale of arms to Taiwan are announced.
All the reading I have to say in the Republic of China, relations with other countries are "unofficial". When this agreement was before the current Chinese government has been officially recognized by the United States, we are still bound by it achieved?

Would you say that we are morally obliged to defend to Taiwan?

Probably shortly after the capture of all Communists on the mainland.

It seems that history is not taught in most schools, otherwise it would not publish this issue. Research World War II, Douglas MacArthur and Chiang Kai Shek.

It has nothing to do with morality, but rather the monetary gains are ..

Although the status quo will be maintained in this way, the U.S. could continue to cash by selling weapons to Taiwan to make, instead of the Chinese invasion, which is unlikely.

Because we have allied with the democracies against tyranny, if possible.
