It is for cleaning. It adheres to all the wet spots and allow it to dry faster. Also clean the mites.

I've never had an ostrich buried its head in the ground. They collect small rocks to your stomach, but his head lay on the floor. Although not the brightest bulb in the socket.

I did not know that is something to see when they eat, but I know they put their heads in the sand, because it helps cool heads
